In front of him is a cube inscribed with the image of the ibis bird, the symbol of the god Thoth, the great Egyptian Magician, god of wisdom, magic, science, time, astronomy, and writing. The Tarot itself is considered “The Book of Thoth.” Therefore, as the first card of the Tarot, this is the first page of the “Book of Thoth,” which, according to Egyptian mythology, contains all the wisdom of the gods.<\/p>\n
On top of the cube are the coin, the sword, and the vase, which, along with the wand in the Magician’s hand, form the four instruments that the young man must learn to use to integrate himself into his universe\u2014this universe being the environment defined by the historical moment in which we live. Coin: Suit of Pentacles. Through the Coin, the young man will have to learn to discern the value of his abilities and acquired knowledge and know how to channel their use according to his sense of life to achieve growth and knowledge, represented by the Key of Wisdom in the figure of the priest in card 22.<\/p>\n

The Major Arcana describe a seven-year cycle. In each septennium, we undertake a karmic task, which consists of developing and beginning to use a new set of gifts. From 1 to 22, the Major Arcana outline the path we traverse to achieve this goal. The first card indicates a moment when you will renew your sense of life and set the goals for the next seven years. The Magician shows that, to begin a new stage, you will undergo a great purification, eliminating everything unnecessary, and gathering only what is essential for this new beginning.<\/p>\n
The first card of the Tarot reveals the essence of being. The boy represents the spirit and expresses the gifts and potentials we are born with. The symbols in his hand and on the table represent the tools that every human being brings to insert themselves into the environment and fulfill their mission, which is to utilize their uniqueness. In other words, The Magician indicates that we have everything we need to accomplish this task and that it is up to us to mobilize ourselves into action.<\/p>\n
In this new beginning, you have many plans and many tools to build a solid foundation for growth. You hold the basic instruments for this in your hands: the mirror, the vase, the sword, and the coin. These represent the four fundamental sectors of human experience:<\/p>\n
